Missouri S&T campus community,
|
|
|
Well, we made it through another semester. As this is my final newsletter as Staff Council president, I want to take the opportunity to express my gratitude to an incredible team and community for another successful year.
This year’s leadership on Staff Council is a group of professionals you can only be lucky enough to work with at least once in your career. Jackie Sansone, vice-president, consistently brings the energy and gets everyone involved; I am excited to watch her grow and lead change as next year’s president. Angelica Nuno recreated the role of treasurer to ensure our accounts were always accurate and the campus community was aware of any financial spending that occurred. Her detailed reports have provided insight that was previously missing.
The committee chairs, Joni Matlock, Jeff Jennings and Kimber Crull, led their respective teams with professionalism and inspiration. Joni and the Campus Involvement Committee worked tirelessly to ensure there were more opportunities this year for employee engagement and recognition. Jeff and the Advocacy Committee developed an anonymous tool to solicit feedback and increased the staff scholarship award. Finally, Kimber and the Communications Committee reached a new level in efforts to keep S&T staff informed of the happenings around campus. I couldn’t be prouder of this team, and I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work alongside such a capable team of leaders.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who attended or contributed to this year’s Staff Appreciation Day. With the support of 25 campus departments and 60 local businesses, Staff Council had the privilege of hosting a recognition event for the books. I want to give a special shout out to Cody Honse from Legends Bank for always being supportive of the S&T community and to Fugitive Beach for allowing us to use their property for this year’s Staff Day video. Congratulations again to the award winners and to our second annual cornhole tournament champion, John Walnofer, pictured.

We would love your feedback on the day to help us improve and make next year’s event even better. If you missed the opening ceremony, feel free to check out the recording, and, as always, I cannot miss an opportunity to thank Chancellor Mo Dehghani for his support in making this annual celebration possible.
Thank you for a great year. I look forward to seeing what’s to come.

With gratitude,
Megan Fowler President of Staff Council
